关于我们
Empowering the San Diego business community to collaborate, face-to-face, about social impact initiatives that make San Diego a better place to live, work, and play. Over the past few decades we have left the issues of improving our communities mostly up to the government and the non-profit sector. The traditional business community has typically been a funder and participated on nonprofit boards. That is no longer good enough. It is time for business leaders to become more active in social impact initiatives. It is time for them to take some of their time and energy and focus it on making San Diego a better place to live, work and play. The next generation of workers are demanding this and our communities need it. But it is not as easy as it should be: there are many disparate organizations making progress, but the business community doesn’t have a cohesive picture. The Cause San Diego's Cause Conference will shine a light on the people and organizations that are driving change. This is a single day and place that will bring together business leaders (both for-profit and nonprofit), gov’t, education, impact investors, philanthropists, and more to learn about what others are doing and create opportunities for collaboration. This is the third year the conference is focused on the broader business community and we look forward to making our 26th Annual Cause Conference THE place to be for Social Impact in the years to come.

Sharing some much-needed positive news - today Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) are launching their University Courses ?? These 7 slide decks are being published today and you can also here from students and lecturers on why more resources like these are urgently needed. There will be some incredible speakers, as well as a webinar you can join: 19:00-20:00 UTC (today - 6th November) ?? I don't know if I'm connected to any university lecturers - but feel free to tag anyone in the comments below! On a personal level, reading Kate Raworth's Doughnut Economics has been the most uplifting book within the climate change space - simply because it gives us a viable alternative way of living/functioning as a society due to the emphasis on social & ecological needs, as opposed to our blind obsession of GDP / growth at all costs. It's actually quite pertinent that today is #GlobalDonutDays24 - because I fully believe the Doughnut model is the perfect antidote to the issues Trump will soon be exacerbating. #DoughnutEconomics #GlobalDonutDays #RethinkingEconomics

AVP Innovation & Entrepreneur Programs BBB | Small Business Champion | Public Speaker | Certified Coach & Facilitator | Advocate for Equitable Access | Hospitality Maven
When the BBB Pacific Southwest, Central & Inland California and Conscious Capitalism San Diego decided to partner to host a Responsible AI-focused event we knew it couldn’t be just another tech talk. It had to align with our core values, reflect our commitment to ethical innovation, and tackle the fast-evolving, complex conversation around responsible AI. This was not an easy feat! For as long as I’ve been planning events (25+ years but who's counting), I’ve chased a special type of euphoria that only event planners understand (if you know you know)...the moment an event unfolds exactly as you envisioned. It's this very feeling: the seamless alignment from ideation to execution, curating speakers who bring depth and passion, COMMUNITY partnerships that resonate with our mission, and creating a night that doesn’t just happen but sings. I am still riding high because last night's event Responsible AI: Innovate with Impact event was PURE magic! Thanks to our absolutely brilliant keynote speaker X. Eyeé and the incredible panel of thought leaders Aaron Elkins, Tiffany ONeil, and Sylvester Raymond we created a space for meaningful dialogue and we explored how AI can align with purpose and values, building a foundation of trust and integrity that benefits everyone. It was powerful, thought-provoking, and exactly the conversation we need right now. Huge shout out to our fantastic sponsors and partners, Empower by GoDaddy, San Diego Business Journal, and JV Marketing Technologies, LLC, and Noble Catering for making the event possible. To our outstanding San Diego Community Partners- this alliance is on ??(sung to the Alicia Keys tune)! Jailbreak Leadership, B Local San Diego, Business For Good San Diego, Cause San Diego, Naturally San Diego. Last night was superb. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life!
