OCTOBER 4, 1883
141 years ago this month, one of the first Business Colleges in the nation was launched...
It was second only to the Wharton School, which opened in 1881, for being among the earliest in business education. Yet, in educating a newly freed people, it was without equal.
63 years later, its sister institution established the world’s first Graduate School of Business at a predominantly African American institution in 1946—once again breaking new ground.
43 years after that, these two pioneering business programs became one in 1989, continuing a shared legacy that has empowered generations of students to rise as educators, entrepreneurs, professionals, and executives, transforming communities and industries.
Through dedication, resilience, and Enterprising Ingenuity, this legacy endures today…
Happy Birthday to the CAU School of Business at Clark Atlanta University and its early beginnings of undergraduate business education. Thank you for Changing the Face, Shape, and Future of Business! ??
