Last week's National Entrepreneurship Week celebration witnessed some incredible entrepreneurial spirit from the Atlanta University community. 14 talented AUC students took to the stage for the Pop Up Pitch Competition, where they pitched for the chance to win up to $500, sponsored by the PNC PARTNERS EDUCATION FOUNDATION as part of its Howard University & PNC National Center for Entrepreneurship grant in partnership with Clark Atlanta's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development. Their creativity and innovation were truly inspiring! We also had the honor of hosting 4 AUC alumni who are now successful business owners. Yvonne Dragon Randall C. Dragon Charla R. Mitchell Courtney Counts, MHR shared their invaluable insights and entrepreneurial journeys as CEOs in the fields of Sustainability, Marketing, and Fashion. The future of business is bright with these changemakers leading the way! I also had the pleasure of attending the Atlanta Black Expo this weekend, supporting entrepreneurs from across the country. It was amazing to reconnect with Kris Hale, CEO of Dope Pieces Puzzle Company and Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs alumna, as well as meet the brilliant young CEOs of I Got Bank. The future of business is in great hands with these incredible entrepreneurs! As we expand the celebration into this week, Clark Atlanta University School of Business have more exciting events lined up: AI for Entrepreneurs & Businesses Workshop with Jonathan Exume of Technologists of Color– exploring how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing business. Formal observation of National Entrepreneurship Week will culminate with a 300+ participant Sports and Entertainment Business Summit, featuring a keynote by Dr. Tommy Jackson – contributing author to Georgia's NIL policy, former NFL player, lawyer, and business leader! It’s a season of learning, networking, and empowerment!
