Spring – and kitten season – have sprung! ???? Welcome CIB's newest fosters, Bluey and her week-old kittens. ?? As always, please spay and neuter. Kittens are adorable, but the kitten avalanche has already started. Give the rescuers in your life a hug and a huge "thank you." ????

River Birthday (est)-7/1/2023 Female Sometimes, all one can do is go with the flow, but River would sure like a life with less turbulence. As best we can put together, this pretty girl was abandoned outside after once having a home. Thanks to our friends at Pennsylvania PETS and Caring Hands Animal Hospital, River was spayed/vetted and safely placed in a caring foster home. River was a little cautious at first with other pets, but she so wanted to engage and play. With a bit of adjustment time, she’s been fine with her foster’s dog, rabbit and 6 cats! She uses the litter box, loves to eat canned food and can make biscuits with the best of them! She also enjoys being pet. River has beautiful, unique markings and a sweet little face. Her foster mom feels she’d be a wonderful pet for someone willing to give her just a little time to make herself at home. River also can be pretty expressive. She’ll meow up a storm if she wants a meal when it’s not quite meal time, but she’s still getting with the program in her foster home!?? River was outside by herself for some time before coming back to the safety of indoors. We hope to find a family who will patiently assure her that this time, she will be safe and well loved.?? Join Gallery Ink and Cats in Bloom on Sunday, June 8 at Gallery Ink in Hughesville, PA from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. for Tats for Cats – a flash tattoo (cattoo?!) fundraiser! ?? 50% of the proceeds will help support Cats in Bloom, a cat café in Bloomsburg, PA that helps rescued cats find their way to adoptive homes. ?? Cats in Bloom is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit, and every single penny goes towards supporting the cats and kittens in their care along with café rent and maintenance. Cats in Bloom visitors have the opportunity to mix and mingle with feline adoptees in a low stress, home-like environment. All of their café residents come from a network of foster care providers and local rescues. The support of generous donors and wonderful volunteers make it all possible. A few things to note for the event: ?No one under 18 ?No tattoos on the neck or above, and no tattoos on the ribs. ?Make sure to bring a valid ID. ?Cash only ?CIB merch will be available for purchase onsite, along with a food truck! Flash sheets will be released about a week before the event so you can pick your favorite(s). ?? Mark your calendars for June 8 and join us for some fun!

Our office cats and bonded littermates, Blizten and Dasher, are peeking out to see if their forever fam is out there looking for them, too! These boys are sweet, playful, and love to cuddle with each other and the humans who visit them. ????

CIB Adoption 1522 Little Foot We never wanted this to be a “sole survivor” adoption story, but we also have to celebrate Little Foot’s tenacity and sheer will to live. Little Foot is with us today thanks to the kindness of Kyle who first rescued a litter of orphaned kittens and the dedication of Celestia Fisher who fostered and now is Little Foot’s “forever mom”. ?? Kyle found 6 orphaned baby kittens in early November and soon found that all the rescues he called were full. He tried his best but with a work week looming, Kyle was in over his head. When we saw a picture of the “tinies”, we knew we had to help. Come to the rescue Celestia Fisher who is an experienced bottle baby foster. She made same day arrangements to take the kittens and try her best to pull them through. Sadly 3 kittens passed before Celestia met Kyle and a 4th shortly thereafter. Little Foot and her larger grey tabby brother initially seemed to thrive and then he too declined and died. Celestia had put her heart and soul into these last two kittens and it was heartbreaking. Little Foot, being an only child, was initially a bit of a handful without a mom or siblings to teach manners. Other household cats tolerated the little one and with time, started to play with her. Soon, spunky Little Foot had won over the entire family and Celestia couldn’t imagine their household without her! So welcome home Little Foot! And again our plea with kitten season looming-please spay/neuter your pets and consider helping a stray or feral cat in your neighborhood by doing the same. Although it’s a happy new beginning for Little Foot, “Sole Survivor” reruns are painful for all of us.

Thanks to you, our donors, we raised $19,080 as of 11:59 p.m. on 3/13 through Raise the Region 2025! (First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania?will have *final* final tallies with matches and prizes within the next five business days.) We are so humbled and grateful for the response we received during this 30-hour campaign. Thank you SO much to everyone who supported us by donating and sharing our posts - we are going to be able to help an immense number of current and future cafe residents and fosters - all because of you! All of these donations will help care for the cats at the café, the ones in foster, future kitties who need our help, and will also assist with supplies, vetting, and medications.
