?? Our latest major investment in nature is enabling our new partner Kijani Forestry to majorly scale a project that helps local farmers implement improved land use practices and sustainable woodlot management systems — removing carbon while providing benefits to the environment and local communities. ?? ?? It’s another example of our innovative financing model at work: de-risk and scale rigorously-vetted, climate-critical projects with transformative capital at the key moment when they're ready to go from early-stage to full potential. ?? ??Read the press release: https://lnkd.in/gT73gRmb And learn more from Beau Milliken, Destin Whitehurst, Megan Bomba, Robert Lee and Tate Mill below ??:

?? We’re once again doing what we love best: making a catalytic investment into nature. ?? ?? ?? We’re excited to announce we’re deploying funds to scale a high-quality agroforestry project in northern Uganda that removes carbon while providing sustainable income sources for local farmers. ?????????? ?????? Our new project developer partner Kijani Forestry, one of Africa’s largest tree-planting organizations, works with smallholder farmers to establish sustainable wood lots on their land that: ??? Fight climate change; ?? Improve soil quality; ?? Enhance biodiversity; and ?? ?? Provide local farming communities with new income opportunities from carbon credits and the sale of sustainably-grown timber and fuelwood. ?? As always, our decision comes only after an exhaustive due diligence process, including on-site visits to vet the project. We’re convinced it has great potential, so we’re helping scale it — with the ultimate aim of restoring over 300,000 hectares of land and removing an estimated 17M tonnes of CO2e from the atmosphere. ?? ??Read the press release: https://lnkd.in/gT73gRmb
