In a part of Nigeria where men seldom assist women with even minor tasks, due to cultural norms, Baba Goni Mallam (right) helps Ummi Modam load her food into a pushcart. He says, “I always feel happy when I can help my customers, especially the women. I make sure to assist them in any way I can.” This is what it means to “love thy neighbor.”

Providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene supplies is critical to our work. It's impossible to calculate the time people spent walking to water in rural Zimbabwe. They relied on unprotected wells, increasing their risk of disease. Doing laundry is one of those things we all dread. But for some, it’s more of a chore than others. Natasha Musarurwa does her laundry close to a rehabilitated borehole in Zimbabwe, while many families must walk five miles to the nearest water source.
