Working to Reduce Poverty in America
关于我们
Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) is the national membership office for Catholic Charities agencies nationwide, providing help and creating hope for millions of people a year, regardless of their religious, social, or economic background. #WeAreThere CCUSA only fills jobs that are listed on our Careers page (https://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org/about-us/careers/) and all career-related email communications will be conducted from a verified CCUSA email domain (@CatholicCharitiesUSA.org). CCUSA will never ask candidates to share personally sensitive information (Social Security number, bank accounts, etc.) during the interview process, and CCUSA will never request any payment from candidates in connection with a job application. CCUSA provides leadership and support for the work of local agencies in their efforts to reduce poverty, support families, and empower communities. The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide service to people in need, to advocate for justice in social structures, and to call the entire church and other people of good will to do the same.

As we prepare to celebrate shared feasts with friends and family this Thanksgiving, Catholic Charities CEO and President Kerry Alys Robinson reminds us that half the clients who visit Catholic Charities agencies across the country come — at least initially — out of food insecurity. In her Thanksgiving message, Robinson shares her profound gratitude for all those who make the life-giving services of Catholic Charities possible.

On this #NationalAdoptionDay, in courts across the country, children celebrated their adoption from foster care, together with their new permanent families. Today, we celebrate the love, joy and commitment of all families that grow through adoption!

“I was living my life 30 minutes at a time, permanently in crisis mode, permanently in survival mode.” With support from Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Raleigh, Elizabeth overcame homelessness and found a career, a home and stability. But hundreds of thousands of other Americans are still suffering from homelessness each day. Join CCUSA in calling on Congress to make their well-being a priority. https://bit.ly/4fZFSZa

The data on homelessness and housing affordability in the US are alarming but ignored far too often. Those who are experiencing homelessness or who are teetering on the edge face a stark reality and impossible choices. This is an urgent moral crisis that should be a major priority of the next Congress. To play your part, join CCUSA’s advocacy community today. https://bit.ly/3OklqGK

What happens to those who have no one to bury them? In the community of Lafayette, Louisiana, Catholic Charities of Acadiana "claims" them and provides the dignity of a proper burial. On All Souls Day and throughout the month of November, we remember our vulnerable sisters and brothers, the materially poor, with no one to bury them when their time comes. Catholic Charities of Acadiana honors them through its indigent burial program, a true corporal work of mercy the agency has engaged in for more than a decade. https://bit.ly/48OtGrW
