A Response Rooted in Faith and Service! The recent appointment of Archbishop Edward Weisenburger has sparked thoughtful public reflection on the Church’s role in addressing inequality across Detroit. Our CEO, Paul Propson, responded in The Detroit News with a message grounded not in debate but in deep conviction — affirming the Church’s ongoing commitment to walk alongside the vulnerable with compassion and hope. ?? “The Catholic Church will continue to serve not because of what the world thinks of us, but because of who we are and what we believe.” As we look to the future with Archbishop Weisenburger, we remain steadfast in our mission to serve all needy people — guided by our faith and Catholic social teaching. ?? Today we remember the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. This feast day serves as a powerful reminder of faith, hope, and healing. The apparitions of Mary to St. Bernadette at Lourdes inspire us to trust in divine providence and to seek spiritual and physical renewal through prayer and humility. Her message of penance and love encourages us to draw closer to God and to extend compassion to those in need.
