Having completed a program dedicated to the process of change with a goal of full-time employment, six extraordinary men graduated this week from Christopher Place Employment Academy, Catholic Charities’ program with education, training and recovery support for formerly homeless men.?? “I’m growing,” Kim Hargett, one the six graduates, told an overflow audience at the concluding ceremony on Wednesday evening. “I’m happy where I’m at.” ?? ?? Yesterday, we observed and celebrated 404 days without a homicide in the Safe Streets Brooklyn catchment zone. Catholic Charities executive director Bill McCarthy noted, "While we're not declaring victory, we are proclaiming progress."
