We know it’s Black Friday, but as you shop for deals, consider setting aside a little for Giving Tuesday. ?? Let's take a moment to reflect on the comforts many of us take for granted—warmth, a cozy blanket, a winter coat, basic essentials like deodorant and soap. For many in our community, these everyday necessities are out of reach. This #GivingTuesday, we invite you to help us provide these essentials to neighbors in need. Just $10 or $20 can go a long way in providing warmth, comfort, and dignity to someone going through tough times. Check out the photo to see how far your generosity can go. This Thanksgiving, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible support of our community. On Tuesday, our staff and volunteers had the privilege of serving a holiday meal to those in need, and we were honored to have Kelly Oubre Jr. from the Philadelphia 76ers and his family volunteering alongside us and sponsoring the meal. His generosity extended beyond the table, as he also donated cold weather gear to help keep our neighbors warm this season. Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day possible. Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Cathedral Kitchen! ?? Photos courtesy of Philadelphia 76ers.

Giving Tuesday is around the corner, and we need your help to provide hygiene essentials and cold weather gear this winter! Giving Tuesday is an annual global event dedicated to encouraging charitable giving and supporting nonprofit organizations. This year, we're highlighting one of our essential programs: our Personal Care Service. Every Monday from 2:30-5:00 PM, our amazing team of volunteers distributes hygiene items such as socks, underwear, soap, menstrual products, and more. In the winter months, we also provide cold weather gear such as gloves, hats, scarves, and hand warmers. We're on track to distribute 74,000 items in 2024 - that's a 55% increase since 2022! Help us keep up with demand and continue distributing these essential items to our community this #GivingTuesday! You can donate with confidence: we’ve earned a 4/4 score on Charity Navigator, which means we’re highly accountable and transparent, ensuring your gift goes exactly where it’s needed most. ?? Catch us on CBS Philadelphia with wakisha bailey! ?? We spoke about the impact of rising food costs and inflation, which have made it challenging to meet the growing demand for meals in our community. With Thanksgiving around the corner, we’re gearing up to serve a special holiday meal on November 26th to anyone in need. A special shoutout to Carversville Farm Foundation, a longtime supporter that provides fresh produce and meat to help fuel our mission. ?? Join us in making a difference. Visit our website to donate or volunteer and help us continue using food to change lives! www.cathedralkitchen.org

Our board member, Erin Coleman from NBC10 Philadelphia, was our emcee for our Harvest for Hunger event last night! We’re so grateful to everyone who supported the evening and helped us make a difference in the fight against food insecurity. We auctioned off some great prizes, enjoyed delicious food from our chefs and culinary arts students, and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support our programs. When we come together as a community, there's no limit to what we can do! https://lnkd.in/e7H9w3rb
