This two-day event emphasizes the importance of a common industrial data ecosystem to drive innovation. On the first day, German Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, ????. ???????????? ????????????, set the stage by emphasizing the need for collaboration in today’s data-driven world to secure Europe’s economic future. Day two focused on implementing a shared data ecosystem. Anja Misselbeck compared the ecosystem to an orchestra, where a conductor is crucial for creating collaboration structures and coordinating efforts. She also emphasized the importance of external input to dive innovation. At this point, Hahn Thomas highlighted the international scope of the IMX community. Since its initiation in 2023, 10 countries from Europe, Asia, and the U.S. have been involved in IMX, addressing key industry topics like smart manufacturing and the implementation of industrial data ecosystems. Now on stage at the #AutomotiveITKongress in Berlin “Catena-X: how far is the data space?” Oliver Ganser, Julia Mayr and Sven Lorenz, discussing the impact of the data space on the automotive value chain. But that’s not all. A new chapter in international data exchange has begun! On September 27th, 2024, we celebrated a significant achievement in Beijing with the launch of the Joint Expert Group on Sino-German Cooperation between Catena-X and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), a leading research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology with a special focus on smart manufacturing, internet of vehicles and future networks. This collaboration marks a major step forward in our efforts to create a truly global and collaborative data ecosystem. By building on open-source code and standards, Catena-X enables participants to freely choose their applications, fostering multi-tier data exchange, scalable and trusted. CAICT’s advanced technical capabilities and deep understanding of both countries’ industries and value chains are valuable additions to the rapidly growing Catena-X ecosystem. Catena-X Next kicked off: Accelerating the future of the automotive industry! With the new consortium, the next phase of the #CatenaX success story begins.?While the Catena-X association is not a direct part of the consortium but joins as an associated partner, we will closely work together to drive the adaptation of the ecosystem even faster. From efficient #CO2 accounting to optimized #QualityManagement and harmonized partner data management – the Catena-X ecosystem is already in productive use across the automotive industry, reducing costs of PCF-calculations, helping to bypass supply shortages and detecting faulty parts earlier in the process.????? But we won’t stop there, we aim to help even more companies adopt Catena-X standards, reducing costs, improving compliance processes and improving quality across the entire value chain.
