For our team, especially Caitlyn Alford, M.A. and all of the hard work she has put into this project. She has helped us in countless ways, but in particular with the validation of nearly 50 core and technical competencies that serve as the bedrock of this new PM process. ?? 3. For Alisha Leytem ???? and the support she has provided within and outside of the business that allows for us to continue to deliver the work that we love. ?? It truly takes a team to do anything worthwhile and we don’t take that for granted. ?? Hola, Friends New and Old ?? I hope life has been treating you well and that you are finding time to enjoy the changing of seasons. ???? This type of post always make me feel a little bit uncomfortable, but I’m trying to practice what I preach in regards to reflection and gratitude. ?? With humility, I am proud to share that 2024 has been a year of tremendous growth for us at Catching Leadership. Not just in the traditional sense, but also personally. I feel compelled to share some of the highlights and let you know what we have cooking for 2025. ?? 2024 Milestones: In Q1 we: Kicked off our largest executive coaching engagement to date. A cohort of 17 leaders. ?? Published our second book “Keep Your Head In The Wind” - 8 Timeless Lessons For Mindful Leaders. ??????? Delivered a Keynote for CalGovHR and got this groovy new head shot ???? In Q2 we were fortunate enough to: Design a competency model and performance management system for a manufacturing client in Eastern Iowa. ???? In Q3, (my favorite): We welcomed our second daughter into the world. ???? Presented at CCHR - a public sector HR membership in California. ???? Facilitated our most successful Catching Leadership fly fishing retreat to date in Fort Smith, Montana. ?? ????? In Q4 we: Secured two new client contracts for 2025 leadership development programs. ??? Have a speaking engagement lined up for March. ??? And are currently updating our website and planning to make a BIG announcement for the new year. ?? ————————————————— Throughout it all, I am proud that we: Generated more impact for our clients this year than in years past. ?? Built new personal and professional relationships. ?? Streamlined our consulting services, with a honed-in focus on: competency modeling, performance management, hi-po talent review, and succession planning. ?????? And most importantly, we maintained a healthy work-life balance that didn’t sacrifice our well-being in pursuit of growth. ?? Some of you may recall that 2023 was one of the hardest years of our lives, so I hope that our success in 2024 serves as a reminder that things do get better. ???? Relying on Your Expertise Coaching isn’t about having all the answers. Leaders who only focus on sharing their own knowledge can stifle independent thinking. Empower your team to come up with their own ideas instead of always relying on you! 2?? Listening at Level 1 True coaching requires active listening. If you’re only hearing what’s being said on the surface, you’re missing out. Listen with the intention of understanding their values, motivations, and emotions. 3?? Leading the Witness Jumping to conclusions and asking leading questions limits the exploration of new ideas. Supporting one another is so important to our health and leadership practice. ?? 2 weeks ago a group of senior leaders embarked on a Catching Leadership Retreat in Montana. ???? Many of us had never met, but that didn’t stop us from forming authentic relationships centered around vulnerability and a love for the outdoors. ?????? It’s amazing how quickly breaking bread with strangers can turn into meaningful relationships when we turn our phones off and let our guards down. ?? This group has done a great job staying in touch since the event and I can’t wait to see how these relationships continue to blossom over time. ?? Word to the wise, if you are building a leadership program, make sure to pencil in adequate blocks for down time, it’s where the magic happens!
