Awesome work by Kamryn Lowler, my Catalyst Media Factory teammate, to help spread the word on a new program the that will help people in trouble with the law to get help instead of jail time.

A huge congratulations to author Andy Gutman and the incredible fifth-grade students from Beechview Elementary School in Farmington Hills for their outstanding achievement! Together, they created the heartwarming children's book My First Day of Kindergarten, which has recently earned multiple accolades in the prestigious Royal Dragonfly Book Award Contest. The book was honored with: Honorable Mention for Best Cover Design Honorable Mention in the Children’s Non-Fiction category.

The idea of LEAD is simple – keep people who committed certain non-violent crimes out of jail. "Instead of going to a jail and creating a criminal history, we’re diverting them to vital services to help lift those people up." https://lnkd.in/eWvZ9MeR

Congrats to Courtney Smith and the Detroit Phoenix Center! #nonprofit #changemakers #detroit
As we celebrate 8 years of service and championing for Detroit's youth, we are honored to share that Detroit Phoenix Center has receieved the National Runaway Safeline Community Engagement Award! ???? Last November, we rallied our community for Youth HOPE Month, hosting 5 different events to raise awareness and generate support to end, prevent and address youth homelessss—culminating in our signature campaign, One Night Without a Bed: Every Youth Every Mile, which raised over $162K, received $38,533 in in-kind donations of goods and services, reached nearly 3 million people through news outlets and billboard marketing, and received coverage from 4 major news networks including WXYZ Detroit, Fox 2 Detroit, CBS News Detroit, and WDET 101.9 fm. Thank you to the National Runaway Safeline for recognizing our work and shedding light on the importance of prevention, outreach, and resources for youth. We also congratulate all the other nominees and awardees who continue to educate, advocate, and inspire hope in communities nationwide. This award reaffirms that, together, we can create a future where every young person has the support they need to thrive. Thank you for championing this cause with us!
