Catalyst worked with the City of Orlando's Pulse Memorial Advisory Committee (PMAC) and Baker Barrios Architects on the conceptual design for the future Pulse Memorial. In November, we presented three design concepts based on a design element preference exercise conducted with the Committee members. Each concept reflected a thoughtful effort to honor the 49 lives taken in the 2016 tragedy while creating a space for healing and remembrance. On February 4, 2025, the design team met with the Advisory Committee to present the refined design concept. The final design concept presented to the Committee included a reflection pool in the place of the original dancefloor; rainbow colors; a visitor pavilion with public accommodations, exhibition space, and an indoor gathering space; a survivors’ tribute wall with seating under the shade of a Survivors’ Tree planted in their honor; and a garden with an elliptical covered walkway with 49 canopy feature columns honoring the victims with rainbow color glass panels. A private gathering space allows visitors to leave flowers or mementos for loved ones. Catalyst is honored to contribute to this project and our community. We hope to create a lasting tribute to the lives taken while embodying healing, hope, and unity for future generations. #pulsememorial

This week, we celebrated progress on the ER of Independence with a special beam signing ceremony! This exciting expansion will bring even more advanced care to Independence, MO. ? Together with the Centerpoint Medical Center team and our incredible partners—ESa , Sevalus, Structural Design Group, I.C. Thomasson Associates, Inc., a Salas O'Brien Company, Catalyst Design Group, PC, and City of Independence, Missouri —we proudly signed a piece of this 14,000-square-foot project. The free-standing ER will feature two nurse’s stations, three overnight rooms, seven exam rooms, and a custom ambulance bay—all designed to enhance patient care.? ? Here’s a fun question for you: Do you know why a ceremonial tree is placed on top of a building during this ceremony?????It’s a practice with Scandinavian roots, traditionally used to celebrate the completion of the major structural components of a building. It symbolizes good fortune, safety, and a successful project for the structure and its occupants. ? We’re excited to bring this vision to life and make a lasting impact for the community! Checkout the video! ? #ConstructionMilestone #BeamSigning #HealthcareConstruction #BuildingTogether #CommunityPartnerships #HealthCareExcellence #IndependenceMO #teamnabholz #nabholzmissouri #growourpeople #serveourclients #buildourcommunities
