We advise clients everyday on press release / announcement timing. Where possible, our agency tries to adopt an "announce and ship" policy to help ensure a strong call to action from the news. In the world of #PR, timing is everything. Announcing too early can lead to frustration, loss of momentum, or even a credibility hit. On the flip side, launching with a strong, well-executed plan helps ensure maximum impact. Companies of any scope and size can fall victim to less-than-ideal announcing timing. Take Apple's reported delay of its #smarthome hub due to #Siri challenges, as covered by TechCrunch below. At Caster, we always advise clients: The announcement is only one piece of the puzzle: ? If your product isn’t ready, resist the urge to tease it too soon. ? If delays happen (and they do), control the narrative and reset expectations. ? If you’re launching, make sure you’re ready to deliver - not just generate hype. The best PR is built on trust. Make sure your announcement timeline aligns with your full communication strategy.

Catch our VP Rachel Bradshaw on this week's AVWeek with Tim Albright, Guy Campos, and Ernie Bailey talking about three of her favorite topics: AI, learning, and innovation in ProAV (especially the mark left on the industry by Joe Pham).
I had the surprise pleasure of joining my good friend Tim Albright on AVNation Media's AVWeek. Along with Ernie Bailey and Guy Campos, we talked about AI in retail, hands-on learning in ProAV training, and the departure of the great Joe Pham from QSC. Anyone who knows me know I have Things To Say on all three topics, so needless to say I had a fantastic time. Thanks for letting me crash Tim! #AI #AV #AVIXA #AVTweeps #ProAV

Starting Caster Communications was not easy. I had some incredible people who cheered me on, but my age and my sex and my hair color were also held against me. Someone actually said to me, “there is no way a 27 year old blonde girl can start a tech PR firm.” Just believe in yourself. You can be anything you want. Proving them wrong is even more fun. ?? Has your company noticed more referral traffic to your website from AI platforms? Meghan Jackson Glickman has some thoughts on the topic ??
Interesting article from Digiday on the increase in referral traffic from AI platforms. For years, PR pros have optimized for search and social media to ensure our clients’ content gets discovered. Now, AI-driven platforms are emerging as the next major traffic source, even as publishers try to block them. PR strategies can’t just rely on traditional media placements and hope for direct referral traffic. The way people find and consume information is shifting—AI-generated summaries, conversational search, and synthesized insights are redefining discovery. We've been thinking a lot about how content is structured, surfaced, and syndicated in this evolving ecosystem at Caster Communications. AI isn’t just scraping content—it’s shaping what audiences see first. That’s an opportunity we can’t afford to ignore. #PublicRelations #PRstrategy #AI #techtrends

Our recent blog dives into what makes content tremendous—and no, it’s not just luck. It’s about originality, creativity, and knowing when to make some noise. https://lnkd.in/geVqR5qr #PR #MediaRelations #ContentStrategy #publicrelations

Thought leadership is a hot topic, a major trend, and a very important strategy when it comes to building trust and brand reputation. At Caster, we incorporate thought leadership opportunities into our PR and marketing strategies for our clients through speaking opportunities, awards, by-lined articles and more. Allowing a brand’s spokesperson, who has expertise in their industry, to sincerely talk about their products or services shows authenticity and brings honest answers, nothing scripted. After doing a quick search on “thought leadership”, knowing it’s a critical component, I found many very insightful articles in Forbes, Entrepreneur Media, Inc. Magazine, Ragan Communications and PR Daily and others just in the last few weeks covering the topic. In this Inc. article, they talk about thought leadership not only boosting brand value, but enabling long-term growth. When looking to get your message across to consumers, business partners, media and influencers, people in general are much more apt to pay attention to experts who are willing and able to share their thought-provoking knowledge, show interest in engaging with their audience, and do it through transparency and honesty. Thought leadership is a powerful tool to build and positively drive personal and business growth, as long as you know how to use it. https://lnkd.in/gJDw4EhA #thoughtleadership #PR #brandvalue #engagement #content

Google's recent updates to the "site reputation abuse" policy is shaking up the world of digital publishing, and is particularly problematic for freelance journalists. The updated language prohibits content "created by a separate entity" from appearing in search pages, even with publisher oversight. The issue here is, by its definition "separate entities" can include freelancers and content from services and people not employed directly by the host site. We have many friends on the freelance front. These dedicated individuals have always been, and should forever be, vital members of the evolving media landscape and this recent shift raises some major questions: ? Is freelancer experience being undervalued? These writers often bring specialized knowledge, flexibility, and importantly a fresh perspective that staff reporters cannot cover alone. ? What is next for content strategy? The future of journalism depends on a balanced approach - this should embrace freelance contributions while meeting evolving standards for searchable content. While the landscape is changing, the work of freelancers is too important, their voices too valuable, and expertise too irreplaceable to ignore this issue. How should the industry adapt here to help keep the balance?

As a PR agency, journalism is our livelihood; but as humans, it is more critical to our lives. #IWorkinPR #JournalismMatters

For over a century, the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) has upheld journalistic integrity by ensuring fair and equal access to the press pool, regardless of political leanings. This system has been a cornerstone of democracy, reinforcing the First Amendment’s guarantee of a free press. Now, the Trump administration has dismantled this tradition, replacing it with a system that handpicks favored journalists while sidelining those who challenge the administration with tough questions. This is not just an internal procedural change—it is a brazen attempt to control the narrative by granting access only to compliant voices and silencing dissenting ones. The implications are dire. When the government decides which journalists are “worthy” of covering it, we inch closer to state-controlled media—something that directly contradicts the fundamental freedoms upon which our democracy is built. This isn’t just an attack on journalists; it’s an attack on every American’s right to access truthful, independent reporting. Press freedom is non-negotiable. The moment we allow any administration—Republican or Democrat—to dictate who gets to hold them accountable, we compromise the foundation of our democracy. Now more than ever, we must stand up for the principles that protect our right to a free and independent press. #FirstAmendment #FreePress #Democracy #JournalismMatters #IWorkinPR
