Silent but serious, DVT is a condition that occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, typically in the legs, where without proper care and attention, can lead to life-threatening complications like pulmonary embolism. Lifestyle and individual health factors, such as prolonged immobility, surgery, pregnancy, obesity, and certain medical conditions increase the risk of DVT. March is #ColorectalCancerAwarenessMonth and when it comes to colorectal cancer prevention, Outpatient Radiology is here to support you! Our CT department can perform a CT (Virtual) Colonoscopy to help detect masses that may be cancerous. A CT colonoscopy is typically ordered for patients who have had a failed colonoscopy or an abnormal colonoscopy that requires further evaluation of a mass. Meet Misty, a Clinical Radiology Manager here at CMI & OPR! In her impressive 24-year radiology career, she's spent 20 of those years here with us and we couldn't be more grateful! Misty began her career as a student intern while attending Casper College. After graduating, she moved away for two years to experience new things but quickly returned to Casper, where she found her professional home at CMI & OPR. As a Clinical Manager, Misty oversees daily operations, fostering a strong, supportive team. With a passion for delivering exceptional patient care, Misty ensures her team is equipped and supported to provide the best comprehensive care for CMI & OPR's patients. What's more impressive than her 20+ year career is that this May, Misty will graduate with a bachelor's degree in organizational development from the University of Wyoming at Casper College—an achievement she once considered a pipe dream. The journey has taught her invaluable lessons that only enhance her role at CMI & OPR. Though she's excited to apply her newfound knowledge, she looks forward to reclaiming some free time to enjoy glamping, relaxing fishing trips, days at the lake, and spending time in the kitchen.
