Inginuity in the U.S. Dredging industry was on full display during FSK debris and wreckage removal. The Baltimore shipping channel will be fully open 700’ wide; 50’ deep shortly as the last truss was removed from the channel yesterday, June 5, 2024 by salvage and dredge company Donjon Marine Co., Inc. “Working to expeditiously and safely there were many moments of pure entrepreneurial innovation captured on video by the US Army Corps of Engineers ,” said William Doyle, CEO of the Dredging Contractors of America. See the time lapse video below where Cashman Dredging & Marine Contracting Company, LLC’s Dale Pyatt, the clam shell bucket dredge, removing wreckage from the FSK channel. Notice what appears to be a huge fishing weight being dropped in front and beside the clam bucket during its lifts. That’s what’s known as “The Pulverizer.” The Pulverizer is a makeshift Lima 2400 crawler crane, spud barge (The Cape May) and mechanical weight device engineered and operated by Sterling Equipment Inc. The Pulverizer worked in tandem with the Dale Pyatt cracking and breaking the submerged FSK road deck so that it could be excavated! America ????. https://lnkd.in/du_a-V-x

At Cashman Dredging, we're proud of all the amazing women on our team who contribute their expertise and dedication every day. Meet Mackenzie?and discover her insights on her experience in the industry. Q. What do you enjoy most about working in construction? A. What I enjoy most is that not every day at work is the same. Each day is faced with a new challenge or lesson, and it helps me to continue growth in my position. There’s always something new to learn and the people I work with are always willing to give insight. Q. What unique perspectives or skills do you bring to your role in construction??? A. A perspective/skill that I bring to my role is that I tend to push for good morale and teamwork when I work with a group of people. I believe that when people are happy when they come to work, we can work together to accomplish a goal and make it more enjoyable. Q. What advice would you give to a young woman wanting a career in construction??? A. I would advise a young woman wanting a career in this field not to let anyone get in your way of doing what you want to. There are people you’ll meet along the way who don’t always have your best interest, but there are a lot more people who will have your back and want you to succeed. Don’t let a bump in the road stop you from anything. #WIC2024?#womeninconstructionweek?#womeninconstructionweek #internationalwomensday2024
