Providing special education advocacy services in the San Francisco Bay Area for more than 40 years

关于我们

CASE, the Community Alliance for Special Education, is an education and disability justice nonprofit that supports families as they navigate special education services in public schools. We help families advocate for a high quality education for their children. The advocates of CASE help families develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans for their children with disabilities and learning differences. We support and empower families as they learn their rights and responsibilities in special education and beyond. Understanding how to navigate the bureaucracy of any school district to get the services required to support a child with disabilities can be overwhelming. At CASE, we have more than 40 years of experience working with San Francisco Bay Area school districts to help families navigate special education services to achieve the best possible outcomes for their students. We’re here to help.

  • CASE is excited to be co-hosting another session of our IEP Boot Camp with Support for Families of Children with Disabilities and the OMI Community Collaborative! Join us in San Francisco on Saturdays February 22 and March 1 for an in-depth, hands-on workshop series. The IEP Boot Camp is designed to help families understand all portions of their student’s IEP. Bring the IEP, educational assessments, and other related documents - we’ll be dissecting them together and creating organized IEP binders. By the end of the workshop series, families will: -understand the current IEP -gain basic advocacy strategies, and -be ready to collaborate with the school team to take the IEP to the next level Families are encouraged to bring copies of their students' IEPs and assessment documents. RSVP at https://lnkd.in/gTzBUNJK

  • At CASE, we believe through our lived experiences that diversity is our strength. We firmly affirm the inherent right to safety, dignity, equity, and opportunity, regardless of shifting policies at the national level. As students with disabilities and their families face challenges and uncertainties, we stand united in providing a welcoming, inclusive, and empowering environment where every student’s identity is celebrated and their rights are protected. CASE’s mission remains unwavering: to ensure that every student, no matter their background, circumstance, or ability, has access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Disability Rights California rejects the unfounded blame of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) initiatives as the "cause" of the tragic plane crash that occurred in Washington D.C. this week. While recovery efforts are underway and the incident is being investigated, it is irresponsible to blame the crash on disabled workers. A diverse workforce, including disabled people, brings together different perspectives, experiences and ideas. We remain committed to building this world, and to protecting the rights of people with disabilities in employment and beyond. ? October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, where we commemorate the many contributions of people with disabilities to America’s workplaces and economy.
