Minnesota Legislative Update: On Wednesday March 5, the House Human Services Finance and Policy Committee will hear testimony on?HF1346. The bill requires revisions to current Mandatory Reporter training - including that at least 50% of the training instruct trainees on how to recognize and report suspected maltreatment - and requires medical, legal, and mental health professionals to be included in creating the training. The National Indigenous Women's Resource Center is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, March 11 at 2pm CST on the Impacts of COVID-19 Grief/Burnout & Supportive Practices. "We have yet to slow down enough to understand the implications of COVID-19 overwhelm on our communities. With that in mind, NIWRC will be hosting a conversation with the community (CWC) to listen to the experiences of Tribal community members. We want to gain a better understanding of the relationship between pandemic grief and subsequent burnout. Within this same conversation, we hope to explore the coping strategies and wellness practices that have supported our community members. We know present-day systems of care are detached from traditional healing practices, and we want to highlight the importance and need for these cultural practices as we heal."
