?? Attention Providers! Following Stoke City's second 1.4% fee uplift after the successful judicial review, critical discussions have emerged. Are top-ups ever the right solution to address inadequate central government funding? Or are they unlawful unless specifically for WANTS - not care needs - that councils must fund or have chosen to fund for the best value purposes in personal budgets? Explore these vital questions with expert insights from Belinda, Geoff, and Lucy in our recorded Q&A session. CASCAIDr CIC is hosting an online discussion with representatives from the Providers Unite movement - Wednesday 5pm - it will be recorded and put on Youtube. https://lnkd.in/e2sVAaHd for a registration link - please pass on. Belinda is going to be talking about the Stoke City case and its implications for CHC and s117 purchase arrangements, as well as for Care Act commissioning. Providers Unite representatives will be talking about its Day of Action on 25th Feb at Westminster, explaining the financial context and the impact of carrying on in business - when the stark reality is that the fees paid aren't enough for most small and medium-sized providers to invest in sustaining quality and improvement. They will be explaining why they want to see exemption from the National Insurance requirements on care and support employers, unless or until the Fair Cost of Care is paid to councils by government, for onward transmission to providers. https://lnkd.in/e2sVAaHd for a registration link - please pass on.
