The Lower School students in grades 3, 4, and 5 began a scientific reading study with @cascadereading and @yaleuniversity. Students are testing out a new approach to reading and working with reading scientists who are experts in their field. Just like in Science classes, where students learn to ask questions, develop experiments, collect data, and report on findings, our students are applying this same process to literacy. What's even more exciting is that students are actually getting to interact (virtually) with the Scientists, providing them with feedback and data that will inform the study. The Lower School will complete this work through the second semester, with the goal of improving reading achievement for our students and children throughout the country.
