关于我们
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Oklahoma County provides trained volunteers to be a champion for the individualized best interests of children in foster care. CASA provides a trained caring adult to advocate for the best interest of children who have been removed from their home due to abuse or neglect. CASA volunteers get to know the children and communicate with all parties in the case and people in the child’s life in order to provide complete information and sound recommendations to the court. As “the eyes and ears” of the judge, the CASA volunteer offers a neutral, third-party opinion to the court, one that is unbiased and child-focused. Annually, there are over 9,000 Oklahoma children in foster care. Our program serves the most difficult of the abuse and neglect cases in Oklahoma County. Although these cases are under the jurisdiction of our county, the children may be placed in foster homes all across the state. CASA of Oklahoma County, Inc. is a Member of the National CASA Association and the Oklahoma State CASA Association, as well as a United Way of Central Oklahoma Partner Agency.

Please join us in welcoming our new Director of Development, Lauren Doyle! Lauren first learned of CASA at one of our events 3 years ago and was immediately connected to the mission. Prior to joining CASA, Lauren worked for the Greater Chamber of Oklahoma City in memberships and CASA was one of her members! Lauren is passionate about kids and advocating for them. She is a lover of caffeine and wine! Lauren loves being involved in her community and is part of the OKCPS Foundation advisory board and is a Safety Net organizer for the OKC Memorial Kids Marathon. We are thrilled to have Lauren join the CASA team and cannot wait to see how she will further CASA’s important mission.?

We were fortunate to have Heather Hails present on Attachment, Trauma & Hope. Heather is the Executive Director of Deaconess Pregnancy & Adoption; she spoke on brain development, connecting through play, and ways to interact with children. It was very informative for our CASA volunteers.

We are so grateful for professionals like Kylee Corken, M.A., BCBA, LBA who offer their expertise to better train and equip our CASA volunteers to be better advocates for the children we serve!
As a Behavior Analyst who is also a proud foster and adoptive parent, today's training opportunity was incredibly special. Today I had the privilege of providing an in-service training to CASA of Oklahoma County, Inc. (CASA) on the impact of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and how it can support children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the state of Oklahoma who are experiencing foster care. We discussed the fundamentals of ABA, the role of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and the wide range of services BCBAs offer, from parent training to IEP consultations. I emphasized how ABA collaborates with speech, occupational therapy, medical teams, and more to provide a holistic approach to each child’s care inclusive of each member of a child's team. One of the key points was the shift in our field toward trauma-informed care in ABA — a particularly important approach for children who have experienced trauma or instability. We explored how this method fosters trust, safety, and emotional resilience, which is vital for the children CASA serves. I left the CASA team with a vision of how ABA, in partnership with their efforts, can help these children thrive, building brighter futures through evidence-based and compassionate care. When professional meets personal, it can hit quite close to home in the best way. As a mother who has been valuably impacted by a CASA volunteer, I extend a heart-felt thank you to CASA for all your team does for children in the state of Oklahoma.
