This month marks Casa Nova's one-year anniversary! ?? We've accomplished so much with the help of our housing allies, and we're looking forward to this upcoming year with the mission of housing our first resident, bringing our prototype fully off-grid, and developing our first village. ???

We started www.CasaNova.studio last year to make a breakthrough in affordable housing, and we’re excited to announce the first unit is completed and furnished (pictures below).?This is all possible due to the incredible work of Caroline Paules and Karin Najarian.?We’d love to help scale these on locations such as church properties, other non-profits’ lands, or possibly other empty lot locations.?If you are in the Pasadena or Los Angeles area and would like a tour, please write us at [email protected] or message Caroline or Karin directly.?Thanks!

? CASA MILESTONE! This morning, we revealed our showroom in-person to a panel of housing innovators in architecture, development, construction, and project management. The LA wildfires were heavy on our hearts as we discussed how we all can contribute to the rebuilding efforts. We were overwhelmed with the positive response from our colleagues! ?? Dear Los Angeles community, It saddens us to make our first post during such devastating and historic wildfires. When news of the spreading fires reached our ears on Tuesday, we were in the middle of a Build Day in Pasadena, putting finishing touches on our first prototype of a new type of housing - affordable and scalable Microhome Villages. On Wednesday, the site was placed under evacuation orders as were several of our team members' homes in Altadena and Pasadena. Thankfully and miraculously, all of our personal homes, and our nearly-complete prototype survived. In times like these, we are reminded why we do this: Resilient, permanent homes are a human right. While this disaster was of unprecedented scale, we believe homes can be resilient, sustainable, and quickly deployable. All of these things can be true at once. Our hearts are with our community members who suffer unimaginable losses. We are reinvigorated in our mission to build homes for as many people as quickly as possible and treat this housing crisis as the emergency that it is.
