We currently have 30 children waiting for a volunteer and we have had much success with mother/daughter, husband/wife, or sibling advocate teams. It gives added support throughout your case, and more quality time with your loved one. Judy and Pam were two CASA volunteers that made a huge difference in Sanaii's life. We try to serve 100% of the children that are eligible for a CASA volunteer in Lake County, but unfortunately due to normal volunteer turnover, sometimes a waitlist can build up. In the spirit of the holidays, our open house last week was a huge success! CASA volunteers came to “shop” for toys, coats and winter gear, and more, for their CASA children. ???????? A huge shout out and thank you to everyone involved in our Holiday giving drive — including all of the Starbucks stores and small businesses who hosted a giving tree, all of our volunteers who put together the trees, distributed them, and collected donations, and special shout outs to: -Tracey Wooten and Jesus Name Apostolic Church for hosting a toy drive -Amanda Alpert Knight for hosting a toy drive with her friend group Thank you all for helping us make the holidays a little brighter for children in foster care. We are so grateful for how our community shows up. ????
