?? Check your panel! ?? Did you know you may have an unsafe electrical panel in your home? If your house was built before 1995 there’s a chance you have a one of these 5 unsafe electrical panels. These are the brands and why they could be dangerous… Zinsco- Circuit breakers would melt to the main bus bar, causing the breakers to not work properly which could lead to fires Federal Pacific Electric (FPE)- Circuit breakers would fail to trip when overloaded causing thousands of fires in homes in the past. Challenger- The circuit breakers in these panel would become detached leading to overheating, melting and fire Split-bus panels- These panels haven’t been used in over 40 years meaning these panels are very outdated and puts them past their expected lifespan which could mean the breaker may not trip or work properly. Old panels- There are a few different types of panels that the functions are not particularly unsafe but they just haven’t been used or installed in many years such as, pushmatic panels, fuse box panels, and split bus panels. Meaning they are old and are potentially unsafe. These types of panels and panels with evidence of corrosion and/or melting should be replaced If you have one of these types of electrical panels we recommend contacting a qualified electrician for further evaluation. This Challenger panel was recently replaced by our electrical team and gave our customer a great piece of mind!??
