#WELCOME! Amelia Schatz joined our team as the Marketing Communications and Administrative Coordinator in the beginning of November. Amelia grew up in southern Minnesota raising and showing registered Limousin cattle and commercial sheep with her family. She attended Kansas State University where she pursued a degree in Agricultural Communications and Journalism with a minor in animal science. During her time at K-State, she took many opportunities to expand her knowledge with communications and the agricultural industries, always striving to find strategic solutions wherever she found herself. She sought out many experiences that helped her grow both in and out of the classroom through clubs and other activities. She found that hands-on work and networking with industry professionals were invaluable assets in shaping where she is now. Upon graduation, Amelia joined Kansas Wheat as their Communications and Event Coordinator, where she assisted their communications team and managed day-to-day operations. "I'm excited to see where this opportunity with CVS takes me," said Amelia. "Joining such a dynamic team allows me to apply my skills and passion for agricultural communications in new and exciting ways. I’m looking forward to helping share the company’s story, develop creative marketing strategies and contribute to its continued growth and success." Welcome to the team, Amelia!

#WELCOME to the team! In October 2024, Camryn Clapp joined Carthage Veterinary Service as a Supply Purchasing Analyst, bringing her expertise in livestock and equipment supplies to the role. Camryn grew up on a family-owned row crop and cattle operation in Montezuma, IN, where a passion for agriculture stemmed from a young age. She gained early experience showing Simmental Cattle at the national level, which allowed her to travel and network with industry leaders. After earning an Agricultural Sales and Marketing degree from Purdue University in December 2022, Camryn worked in sales at two John Deere dealerships before transitioning to CVS working directly in Carthage Supply. Outside of work, she enjoys helping her fiancé, Riley Smith, on his family’s farm, working cattle and spending time with their dogs.?

“It’s easy in this industry to think about the good old days, but we have to believe the best is yet to come,” said Milt Lowder, a Clemson University psychologist, during the 34th Annual Swine Conference. During one of the most challenging economic times of the U.S. pork industry, I couldn’t help but think: How exactly do we do that? #pork #mentalhealth #hope #grit #future Milt Lowder, Ph.D. Carthage Veterinary Service, LTD
