We’ve built a real-time AI commentator that delivers instant analysis and dynamic narration for live events. This demo, featuring a 1980s radio-style voice, provides basketball insights in just ~600ms, showcasing what’s possible in media and entertainment. Powered by Cerebrium for scalable AI inference, LiveKit for real-time video streaming, and Cartesia for expressive voice synthesis, this system pushes the boundaries of AI-driven broadcasting. While there’s room for improvement, this is a glimpse into the future of real-time AI commentary. ?? A really cool feature of our Sonic preview text to speech model is its ability to deal with multilingual, mixed languages, which are core to use cases like voice calling for customer support. A great example of this is for voice calling in Hinglish (a mix of English and Hindi), which is the common way English is spoken in India. Mixing languages is standard in countries that are bilingual++ (typically English + another language e.g. Spanglish, Singlish, Taglish), and our models enables this mixing across the languages we support. It's the right way to make voices feel conversational, and feels VERY natural to listeners compared to what they're used to seeing from AI today. So much of the way in which mixed languages are spoken is about capturing cultural context correctly, which is challenging to say the least. Getting this right is the only way to build AI that's loved by people in a localized region. What we have today is an awesome solution to this already, and we'll continue to improve this to get the nuances nailed everywhere.

??? Just cloned my voice using Cartesia's new Sonic Preview Model and I'm blown away. Voice cloning has been around for a bit already, but what makes Cartesia special imo is their end-to-end approach. Here's why they're nailing it: 1?? dead simple to use: I'm a huge fan of simple onboarding, and Cartesia's playground delivers. No overwhelming stuff - just the features you need. Took a 5-second sample, clicked a few buttons, and had my voice clone ready to go. 2?? they're crushing it with localization: Got my clone speaking 5 different languages super fast. Their localization tech is already amazing - you should hear how natural my russian & polish clones sound (didn't upload those here but trust me it's wild). 3???easy to tweak everything: Want to adjust speed? Change emotions? Fix pronunciation? It's all right there and super intuitive. Working in voice AI right now is just incredible. We're seeing mind-blowing new stuff literally every week. What I tested here is just scratching the surface of what's possible. Super hyped to see voice AI companies start building these into their agents! P.S. At Coval, we're using more and more of these capabilities to create hyper-realistic simulated users for voice agent testing.
