Carro's Singapore Country Head Kuanyu Tan was recently on Singapore’s current affairs TV programme, 《前线追踪》 (Frontline) to chat about all things EVs: the growing market, its pros and cons, and potential consumer savings. #ICYMI, Singapore has plans to phase out internal combustion engine (ICE) powered vehicles by 2040 with a series of incentives and rules. For example, from 2030, all new registrations of cars and taxis must be of cleaner energy models. This means we can expect the used car market for EVs and hybrids to grow. In fact, Singapore is forecast to have the largest share of passenger electric vehicles (EVs) in Southeast Asia by 2040, according to a report from Bloomberg’s energy research service BloombergNEF. As Asia Pacific’s No. 1 online used car market, we’re ready for these changes, as we upskill and upgrade our employees, equipment and technologies to accommodate the sale and maintenance of EVs and hybrids.
