Chancey Miller and Molly Green of our Chattanooga (TN) office secured summary judgment in a personal injury case involving significant damages. Their client, a government entity, owned a historic building but had contracted out its operation. The plaintiff, a resident, alleged she slipped and fell due to water in the stairwell. Chancey and Molly successfully argued that their client was immune under the Tennessee Government Tort Liability Act (TGTLA), as the client owned but did not control the building at the time of the incident. The trial court agreed and dismissed the case in its entirety, with no appeal filed.?
