Congratulations to Bell-Everman, Inc. for such an innovative design and expert execution! We are honored that you trusted Thern, Inc. equipment to play a part in your impressive project. To learn more about Bell-Everman's custom mobile solutions and details on this application, please check out their website - https://lnkd.in/gEkiQNca This project made use of a custom Thern power winch configured with a grooved dual-compartment drum to allow for redundant cable lift. The winch also has additional features including a slack line detector and cable pressure roller bar for a more secure operation. A number of Thern's Redline vertical lead blocks were also used to help manage cable direction. You can see several of these red-colored Thern blocks on top of the assembly. Thank you to Rick Chavez with CableCo for sourcing these Thern equipment.
We recently addressed mechanical challenges in designing the solar simulator motion system to test NASA’s Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) solar arrays. We designed, engineered and fabricated a custom mobile-robot gantry to reduce system cost and complexity. Read our new blog post to learn how we also addressed construction, mobility and electrical challenges in this application: https://lnkd.in/e6S5ndsf #motioncontrol #NASA #solar #solarsimulator #engineering
