In honor of the Great American Smokeout, Caron’s Education Alliance team member, Jess Kase, visited the Wyomissing School District to educate students about the dangers of tobacco and nicotine. Jess led Myth or Fact trivia and the students received "quit kits" provided by COCA — a reusable bag filled with items like hard candy, gum and fidget toys, designed to help individuals resist nicotine cravings. There is power in prevention and education! We’re proud to play a role in empowering the next generation.

Diana Santiago, Clinical Supervisor of the Older Adult Program, and Dr. Ramona Roberts, LP, CCTP-II, CCS, CET, Senior Executive Director of Regional Outpatient Services, contributed their invaluable expertise at the Council on Chemical Abuse’s 2024 COCA Annual Conference. Dr. Palmerio-Roberts moderated the "Recovery Across the Lifespan" panel, leading a meaningful discussion on how treatment needs evolve across age groups and life stages. Diana delivered an insightful presentation on Effective Treatment Strategies for Older Adults with Substance Use Disorders. Additionally, we’re thrilled to celebrate Gregory Day MHS, CAADC, CET, CTP, EMDR Trained, who was honored with the Joseph “Bud” Haines Community Award, recognizing his commitment to growth both internally and to our field in his more than 20 years with Caron. We’re grateful for the dedication of our team in advancing recovery strategies and reinforcing Caron’s commitment to supporting individuals at every stage of life.
