#DrinkingWaterWeek shines a light on the water professionals who work tirelessly to help provide clean, safe water for our communities. Today, we are focusing on stories from Carollo’s annual WaterMark event. This event gathers employees passionate about water treatment from Carollo’s offices across North America for two days of learning, networking, and knowledge sharing. This year, attendees toured two water treatment plants and a desalination plant serving the cities of Santa Barbara and Goleta. They solicited feedback on Carollo's designs from plant owners and operators and shared their own insights and expertise with one another. Click through to hear what some of the attendees had to say about their experience!

With water challenges intensifying across the Southwest, the City of Phoenix is taking proactive steps to secure its drinking water supply. The new 4A-B10 Booster Pump Station, designed by Carollo and built by PCL Construction, is a key part of the city’s Drought Pipeline Program, which helps water from the Salt and Verde rivers reach areas most in need—especially during shortages on the Colorado River. A recent Opflow article explores how this strategic infrastructure investment enhances water distribution, improves system flexibility, and strengthens long-term resilience. Congratulations, Sanaan Villalobos, PE, ENV SP! We can't wait to see how you'll use this platform to promote water reuse and drive positive change in the water sector. ??????
We’re thrilled to announce the new #WRTX Vice President, Sanaan Villalobos, PE, ENV SP, Senior Client Services Manager and Vice President at Carollo Engineers. Sanaan brings 25 years of experience in the water sector to her new role—covering municipal water, wastewater, and environmental engineering, including reuse systems. While Sanaan has played a key role in delivering many critical water projects, she points to her more than a decade-long role as project manager for El Paso Water’s Advanced Water Purification Facility as a standout achievement. As she explains, “Living in the desert community of El Paso has made me acutely aware of the opportunities for water reuse projects to make major impacts. I’ve been inspired to see one of these—the El Paso AWPF—become a reality, but there is more work to be done. I am honored to serve alongside other champions for reuse and help advance these vital solutions for communities across our state." #onewater #waterreuse #waterindustry
