Last month, we wrapped up the TIP East Pump Station Excavation project down in Moncure for our friends at Crowder. We couldn’t be prouder of the team effort and meticulous planning that went into getting this project done safely & efficiently. With the excavation & shoring complete, CIP concrete work can now safely commence 33’ below grade! Once complete, this pump station and associated sewer infrastructure will set the stage for some significant growth and connectivity in the region.

At Carolina Civilworks Inc, we’re always up for a challenge, and the ACHC Expansion project was no exception! We recently tackled the installation of a CMP underground detention system, and due to tight site conditions, we had to get a bit creative. Using a conveyor to place the 57 stone for backfilling was a new approach for us, but it worked out perfectly. It’s always rewarding to find new solutions and see them come to life.

Back in April we had a big day out at Raleigh’s Neuse River Resource Recovery Facility.?We set 4 large stainless steel polishing tanks on custom poured concrete pads.?While they may not look like much, these tanks and the piping / controls associated with them are a critical component of the City’s Bioenergy Project.?This is the final step in the process before gas recovered from wastewater treatment is sent to Dominion Energy for re-use! This year, we showed our appreciation by heading to Carolina Adventure World for some 4-wheeling and dirt bike riding. While we typically install most of our pipe one joint at a time with excavators, sometimes unique circumstances require an outside the box approach. We recently installed an entire 175 LF run of 18” DIP storm drain in 30” casing with a crane at an office expansion project in Cary.?Site constraints, depth & timing all played a major factor in our equipment selection.?Thanks for the assist ALL Family of Companies!

It's a bittersweet moment for us at Carolina Civilworks Inc as we bid farewell to one of our esteemed team members. Gregorio García, after 12 years of exceptional service, has decided to embark on the new adventure of retirement. Gregorio has embodied of our core values: honesty, integrity, and teamwork. He has maintained a steadfast commitment to excellence that has inspired those around him. We couldn't let such dedication go without a proper celebration! Last month, we hosted a special retirement lunch in Gregorio's honor, where we shared memories, laughter, and gratitude for all the years he's been with us. We recently completed the Sludge Thickener No. 4 Improvements project at Raleigh’s EM Johnson Water Treatment Plant.?Our partners at Freese and Nichols and the City of Raleigh Municipal Government were instrumental in helping us deliver yet another successful project to the City.?With this thickener active, Raleigh can now more efficiently treat drinking water for its residents every day!?Another interesting feature of this project included repurposing an old chemical feed building to provide a new break room for plant employees.?
