After 2.5 years we celebrated the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the The Charlotte is Home Center . The new home of Carolina Migrant Network. The Charlotte is Home Center is a collaborative hub where neighbors from around the world can access educational resources and wraparound services in their first language, comprehensive healthcare, and pro-bono detained legal representation—all under one roof. Thank you to our partners ourBRIDGE for KIDS and Charlotte Community Health Clinic and for your endless dedication to continuing providing essential services to all communities. Thank you to congresswomen Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. , Mecklenburg County , Aldersgate Living and Lowe's Home Improvement for believing in the vision of a more welcoming Charlotte. #charlotteishomecenter

Guess what!?? The Charlotte Is Home Center was selected as one of 2024 Lowe’s Hometown Projects! These funds, along with the $1.3M recommended by Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. and the $250,000 recommended by Mecklenburg County, will allow us to complete construction of North Carolina’s first one-stop-hub for immigrants and refugee families. They will find wraparound services with ourBRIDGE for KIDS, comprehensive healthcare with Charlotte Community Health Clinic, and probono legal representation with Carolina Migrant Network (among many other services in multiple languages! BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! We’re thrilled to share that?The Charlotte Is Home Center?has been selected as one of the?Lowe's Companies, Inc.?Hometowns project! Only 100 projects have been selected throughout the United States and we are proud to be one of them. For refugee and immigrant families, accessing high-quality, culturally responsive resources, guidance, and services in their first language is crucial for adjusting to a new community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, ourBRIDGE identified three major gaps in services for newly-arrived families in Charlotte: navigating the school system; accessing healthcare; and connecting with a pro-bono immigration attorney. In response to this needs, ourBRIDGE partnered with?Charlotte Community Health Clinic?and?Carolina Migrant Network?to create North Carolina’s first one-stop-hub, improving access to these essential services for newly-arrived families.
