?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ???????? ?????????????????? Since joining Carmody MacDonald in 2016, Brad Zimmerman has helped clients with their legal needs in the areas of business law, estate planning, and tax. Brad also uses these skills outside the firm to help local organizations like Christ Community Lutheran School, St. Andrew’s Charitable Foundation, and the Iota Sigma Housing Corporation. From grade schoolers to senior citizens, he is dedicated to improving living conditions for others in his community. As a member of the Board of Directors for Christ Community Lutheran School, Brad helps the board manage policies, build long-term funding, evaluate growth opportunities, and assess tuition for over 700 students. Brad also supports the school’s athletic activities by coaching the first- and fourth-grade basketball teams during the winter. In addition to supporting youth education, Brad donates his time to assist the elderly as a board member for St. Andrew’s Charitable Foundation. The foundation helps low-income seniors get access to assisted living facilities through services that include delivering healthy meals and safety-proofing potentially hazardous parts of homes. Since 2023, Brad has also served on the board for the Iota Sigma Housing Corporation, working with fellow Sigma Chi alumni to reach the chapter’s goal of building a new fraternity house. “I feel an obligation to give back to people who maybe aren’t as fortunate,” Brad said regarding his involvement in the community. “For me, it’s always been about figuring out what I am good at and how I can use these blessings to give back,” whether that means giving back to his church and children’s school, helping youth and the elderly, or working to build the chapter house of his college fraternity. ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? Chris Lawhorn Focusing his practice on complex litigation, Chris Lawhorn has worked with many businesses and organizations in the St. Louis community. However, Chris’s commitment to aiding his community extends beyond the office. He actively donates his time to several organizations, including Join Hands ESL, Ursuline Academy, and Missouri Athletic Club. “I think it’s important to get involved in your community and do what you can to bring whatever resources you have to help others,” Chris said. Join Hands ESL is a nonprofit organization formed with the goal of educating and empowering children and families in low-income areas of East St. Louis. Chris is a former board member, and he continues to leverage his litigation experience to aid the organization. Additionally, he helps organize fundraisers for Join Hands ESL, including their annual trivia nights. Chris is also a member of the Board of Trustees for Ursuline Academy, the high school alma mater of his wife and two daughters. Chris supports the principal and vice-principal of the school in strategic financial planning, which occasionally involves fundraising. One such fundraiser is their annual auction, known as Ursuline’s Soiree. Last year, Chris’ role extended beyond arranging the auction to providing live entertainment alongside his Kelly’s Heroes band. For the last five years, Kelly’s Heroes has donated their time to the community, playing at church fundraisers and entertaining hockey fans during St. Louis Blues games. Last September, Kelly’s Heroes played on the rooftop of the Missouri Athletic Club for their annual barbeque. Chris has served as president for the Missouri Athletic Club and remains involved in various aspects of the club. ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?????????????? ???????????? ?????????? Lindsay Leible Combs is an experienced lawyer who practices general civil litigation with significant experience defending healthcare providers in medical malpractice cases. When not in the office, she is often found spending time with her two children or working to improve educational resources for other children in the St. Louis region. Since 2021, Lindsay has served as a Board Member for North Side Community School, a public charter school that provides accessible education for low-income, under-served neighborhoods in St. Louis for grades pre-K-8th grade. As a member of the Board, some of Lindsay’s responsibilities include creating and adopting school policies regarding budgeting, hiring, curriculum, facilities, and transportation. Prior to being elected to the Board at North Side Community School, Lindsay served on the Young Professionals Board for The Little Bit Foundation, an organization which helps to break down barriers for children at public schools who are from under-resourced communities throughout the St. Louis region. However, her commitment to helping children in the St. Louis community began much earlier; in 2008, when she began serving as a community-based mentor for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, where she was matched with her “Little,” Janea Davis. Similar to North Side Community School and The Little Bit Foundation’s commitment to providing educational resources for children, Big Brothers and Big Sisters matches adult volunteer mentors with children to help them succeed and thrive in both school and beyond. Since Janea aged out of the program, Lindsay has stayed closely connected with her; she graduated from Paul Mitchell The School St. Louis with her cosmetology license and now owns her very own hair salon: Salon One Twenty-Four in Florissant, Missouri. “St. Louis is a prime example of the major gaps in education simply based on the neighborhood where a child lives,” Lindsay said when asked about her motivation to improve education for all. “I believe starting with quality education can enable these children to have a better path in life towards a successful future, no matter where they are from.” More information on Lindsay and her practice can be found on the Carmody MacDonald website at https://lnkd.in/gh3JbmMW.
