Carmel Country Club

We had the privilege of hosting the IFMA Spring Council Meeting at Carmel this year! This gathering brought together facilities professionals from clubs across the country to connect, exchange ideas, and discuss best practices in club facility management. Attendees had the opportunity to experience all that Carmel has to offer while participating in insightful education sessions led by John Rimer, President of FM360 and Senior Consultant and Todd Bruen, Director of Facilities and Construction at Desert Mountain Club, Inc, and Aaron Dawson, Carmel's own General Manager and COO. The three-day conference concluded with a tour of Charlotte Country Club, providing even more opportunities for learning and connection. A special thank you to IFMA, John Rimer, Todd Bruen, Aaron Dawson, Charlotte Country Club and our Facilities Team for their hard work in making this event a success. We are grateful to have been part of such a meaningful exchange of knowledge and collaboration!

Happy Employee Appreciation Day! ?We celebrated our wonderful team with a fantastic doughnut truck as a great snack mid way through the night. A big shoutout to Karen R. and Chris Moore for making our team feel special day in and day out ????

We were thrilled to be able to send Carly Scheve and Diana Graham to the Carolinas Chapter CMAA Mid Management Conference this year! They learned how to lead a successful team and how to communicate and collarborate across generations…if you ask them, the education was a hole-in-one!

This month, we're shining the spotlight on Housekeeping Supervisor Carolina Linarez! Carolina has been a dedicated member of the Carmel team for twenty-five years, ensuring the club remains spotless and in top condition. Keep reading to learn some fun facts about Carolina! Where did you grow up? I grew up in Toluca, Mexico. What is your favorite thing about working at Carmel? My favorite thing about working at Carmel is building long lasting friendships with some of my coworkers. What do you enjoy doing outside of work? What I like to do outside of work is cook and make pastries. Tell us about your family: I have three daughters that I’ve been pregnant with while working here at Carmel. My husband Luis also works here! What is the strangest food combination that you enjoy? Torta de tamale which is a bread stuffed with a tamale. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Ghost by Jerry Zucker.

Congrats to Tim Rupar for earning his WSET Level 2 Wine Sommelier certification! We’re excited to have him join our team of wine experts at Carmel.

Our Greens & Grounds team worked through the afternoon to cover the greens for incoming frost. This important process helps to protect the grass from damage so our greens are perfect in the spring and summer. You know what they say…summer greens are made in the winter ??
