We are pleased to announce the winners of its 2024 Kulterecke Docent Scholarship Program! ?? First Place, receiving a $1,000 scholarship, is awarded to Ellen Rozmaryn of Carmel High School, Class of 2027. ?? Second Place, receiving a $500 scholarship, is awarded to Abiola Olutayo of Fishers High School, Class of 2027. ?? Third Place, receiving a $250 scholarship, is awarded to Sam Vrtismarch of Carmel High School, Class of 2025. These accomplished students will serve as Kulturecke Docents, sharing their expertise and enthusiasm with visitors to the Kulturecke (Hut #19). The Carmel Christkindlmarkt extends its gratitude to the Indiana German Heritage Society (IGHS), the sponsor of this scholarship program. ?? It’s Opening Day at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt! The Opening Day Ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. with music by the Midwest Alphorn Retreat, a meet-and-greet with the new Christkind, and the opening bell ringing at noon. Throughout the day, the Winter Pavilion has talented musicians take the stage while Ringo provides demonstrations in the Kinderecke and Markus Wagner in the Werkstatt. Take a spin on the ice skating rink (advance tickets required), and let your little ones enjoy the many kids' activities in the Spielhaus and Kinderecke. ??The tree lighting is at 6 p.m. Remember to explore the Market vendors offering an array of German foods and gifts.
