REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! We are excited to kick off the year with our Speaking of Work Speaker Series featuring Allison Whalen, CEO of Parentaly. Despite the benefits of longer paid leave policies, there are still many open questions about how to implement policies that truly support business continuity and the careers of working parents. After surveying thousands of women who returned from parental leave over the last three years, Parentaly found that: ??Parental leaves impact a large swath of the organization: 52% of parental leaves result in team burnout. ??Returning employees are leaving for other opportunities after a poor parental leave experience: 73% of new parents consider leaving their company at least occasionally and one-third leave within 18 months of returning from leave ??Women are worried about career progression: 68% said their number one concern with taking leave is the impact it would have on their career, above both childcare and health concerns In this session, Parentaly's CEO Allison Whalen will dig into the top five takeaways from this research, addressing: 1. Top concerns and challenges employees face before and after parental leave 2. The manager and organizational impact of parental leave transitions 3. Recommendations for employers on how to better attract and retain employees through parental leave Event Details: February 5, 2025 8:15am - Networking breakfast 8:45am - Session begins Location: Hanson Hall, Room 2-245, Carlson School of Management/Zoom FREE!
