Exciting Announcement ?? Bear Trap Dunes, a Troon managed and Carl M. Freeman Companies owned golf club in Ocean View, Delaware, recently welcomed Kellie Pitts as its new General Manager. Pitts will oversee all aspects of the club, including golf operations, membership, agronomy, and food and beverage services. As part of her responsibilities, Kellie will also oversee operations at?Coastal Kitchen, a popular dining venue at Bear Trap Dunes adding to the hospitality experience available to members and the public. Bear Trap Dunes located just three miles west of Bethany Beach, Delaware, boasts a scenic 27-hole golf course designed by Rick Jacobson, set amidst coastal terrain and abundant sand dunes. The course has been recognized among the “Top Five Best Golf Courses You Can Play in Delaware” by GolfWeek and ranked as the “#4 Best Golf Course” in Delaware by Golf Magazine. Nick Freeman, Vice President of the Commercial and Hospitality division at Carl M. Freeman Companies, expressed his excitement and support for Kellie’s new position “Kellie’s leadership, commitment, and deep understanding of the golf clubs make her an ideal choice to lead Bear Trap Dunes. We look forward to seeing the great things Kellie will achieve as General Manager.” Kellie grew up in nearby Frankford, Delaware and is a graduate of Goldey–Beacom College in Wilmington, DE, where she earned degrees in Human Resources Management and Business Administration. She began her career in 2007 at Bear Trap Dunes, where she quickly demonstrated her dedication and leadership skills. In 2009, Kellie joined Bayside Resort Golf Club as Membership Coordinator and advanced through various leadership positions, ultimately serving as Assistant General Manager in 2021. Bayside Resort Golf Club, an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf club, is also a Troon managed and Carl M. Working together, serving for good! The OneFreeman team kicked off the week with an inspirational visit and volunteer opportunity at Clothing Our Kids in Millsboro, Delaware. The mission of Clothing Our Kids - Non-Profit is to improve the lives of at risk Head Start, elementary, middle, and high school children by providing them with appropriate school clothing in Sussex County. Many children do not have essential school clothing which has a direct negative impact on their self-esteem, their school attendance, their ability to learn, and can lead to bullying. Their goal is to assist these youngsters with an equal start in their early education and help them become successful students. This incredible organization is always seeking volunteers - check them out!

Every year our team is humbled and honored to recognize the outstanding police officers, paramedics, EMTs and firefighters who help keep our local communities safe at the Joshua M Freeman First Responder Awards luncheon. The Joshua M. Freeman First Responder Awards Ceremony, formerly known as the Valor Awards, is presented by the Carl M. Freeman Companies and this year was held at Signatures at Bayside. For over 20 years, this ceremony has provided due recognition and honor to the incredible men and women in local First Responder companies and departments for their service and dedication to our community.
