At Caris, we take great care of our patients, and we also like to have a good time. Thank you to Gary Fleenor for being a good sport about getting a pie to the face in celebration of us hitting our new all-time high in patients served!

In honor of Volunteer Coordinator Appreciation Day, our Family Services Coordinator is sharing a note of gratitude for our team . . . "Dear Volunteer Coordinators, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for your hard work and dedication. The hospice movement was literally built on the power of volunteers, and you all embody that spirit in everything you do. You are the heart of our hospice. Your creativity, positive attitudes, and innovative approaches make a profound difference in the lives of our patients. You always go the extra mile to ensure that our Caris partners, patients, caregivers, and healthcare partners feel encouraged and supported. The work that you do every day adds immeasurable value to the care that our hospice is able to provide. I am so lucky to be a part of an amazing team of volunteer coordinators. You are all rock stars..... and you make me proud. Every day. With heart felt thanks, Diana Puckett, Family Services Coordinator"

Patient Care Manager, Morgan Cox shared a special story with us . . . "Caris Healthcare Milan team met Sebastian when he was 2 and a half months old, he had a heart full of courage, and an unbreakable spirit, but his little body faced challenges right from the start. Sebastian was diagnosed with life-limiting conditions and doctors prepared his family for the difficult journey ahead. With heavy hearts, the parents made the gracious decision to place Sebastian on hospice care, hoping to make his final days as peaceful and comfortable as possible. ? The hospice team, led by compassionate nurses and caregivers, embraced Sebastian with open arms. We brought in special equipment, comforted his parents, and ensured that every moment was filled with love and care. His parents prepared themselves for the inevitable, cherishing every second they spent with their precious baby boy. They marveled at his resilience, even though they were told not to expect too much time. ? Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Sebastian’s condition was delicate, but something incredible happened—he began to thrive in the loving care he received. His smile grew brighter, his growth was astounding, and his family found themselves celebrating small victories every day. We continued to support his parents through the uncertainty while providing the best care we could. We too were amazed by Sebastian’s strength, watching in awe as he defied the odds. ? Before anyone realized it, a year had passed. Sebastian, the little boy who wasn’t expected to see his first birthday, had not only survived but was thriving. His health, though still fragile, has improved so much that we as the team began discussing something that once seemed impossible—Sebastian has graduated from hospice care. ? As we the hospice team said our goodbyes, we knew we had witnessed something extraordinary. Sebastian’s story is a beacon of hope for every family who walked the same path, reminding them that sometimes, even in the most difficult situations, miracles can happen." Thank you, Caris team for providing this sweet boy and his family with so much love and support!

The West Region worked with the Central Region to get supplies and donations to the areas in the East and NC that have been severely affected by Hurricane Helene. From the Arch of St. Louis to the hills of West TN, and over the river into Middle TN: the West Region sends our love and support. #CarisLove #CarisStrong
