Music is a powerful healer. ???? Our Healing Arts Program honors the memory of a special NICU nurse practitioner who touched countless lives with her ukulele and songs. She brought comfort and joy to our tiniest patients and their families, and now we continue her legacy with the creation of Tabitha's Tune Time, providing that same healing music to brighten their days.

Every time a Virginia Tech Hokie made an assist this season, Member One donated to Carilion Children's through the Member One Assists program! ?? A big thank you to the credit union, whose representatives joined a team from Carilion Children's on the court to present a donation of $5,000.

In the early 1900s, African American doctors in Roanoke faced significant challenges finding proper facilities to care for their patients. Physicians like Isaac David Burrell often had to practice in cramped spaces within private homes. Determined to provide better care, Dr. Burrell and a group of fellow physicians established the Medley Hospital in 1914—a 12-bed facility in a house. As patient demand grew, they expanded to a renovated 2-story building, founding the Burrell Memorial Hospital Association to serve Roanoke's African American community. #TBT #BlackHistory
