关于我们
The Caribbean Equality Project (CEP) is an NYC-based organization that empowers, advocates for and represents Afro and Indo-Caribbean LGBTQ+ immigrants in New York City. Through public education, community organizing, civic engagement, storytelling, and cultural and social programming, the organization focuses on advocacy for LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights, gender equity, racial justice, immigration, mental health services, and ending hate violence in the Caribbean diaspora. Since then, the organization has been hosting bi-monthly healing community spaces through its Unchained support groups in Queens and Brooklyn, facilitates immigration legal services for LGBTQ+ asylum seekers, curates oral history and storytelling interdisciplinary art exhibitions, combats food insecurity, organizes culture-shifting programming and builds political power through civic engagement, Census outreach, redistricting, voter registration, and legislative advocacy to advance LGBTQ+ and voting rights in New York State.

??Celebrating 10 Years of Caribbean Equality Project We are thrilled to unveil our 10th Anniversary logo as we commemorate a decade of advocacy and service. Launched in 2015 in response to anti-LGBTQ hate violence, the Caribbean Equality Project remains New York’s only Caribbean LGBTQ+ immigrant rights organization, serving as a beacon of hope and empowerment. In 2025’s political landscape, we celebrate 10 years of breaking barriers and amplifying voices. Our revamped logo symbolizes our commitment to visibility and honoring Queeribbean heritage. Over the past decade, it has become an iconic visual message of representation and inclusivity. Join us as we reflect on a decade of creating spaces of belonging and building a legacy of love and resilience for future generations. Together, we fight for collective liberation. ?? Here is Documented’s look at the impact of a decade of our Healing Justice work. This article by journalist Tracey Khan, published by Documented details how our UNCHAINED program rapidly adapts and evolves to serve the multifaceted needs of NYC’s LGBTQ+ immigrant communities. ??The Trump administration’s harmful executive orders inflicted immense fear and panic on our community’s safety, access to immigration services, and life-saving trans-affirming care. CEP responds with care, Know Your Rights education, and a culturally responsive approach to meet these emerging needs. ??Read the entire article here: https://lnkd.in/eZ6zSDan #CEPTurns10 #CaribbeanEqualityProject #LGBTQ #Caribbean #littleguyana #LittleCaribbean
