How's the auto market shaping up so far this year? According to our January Market Intelligence Report: with healthy demand, balancing inventory, and some uncertainty around the future of pricing. Key trends include: ?? Used car demand is robust: Q4 2024 saw unseasonably strong used sales demand with momentum continuing into 2025. Preliminary January data suggest this could set dealers up for a solid spring selling season. ?? Tariff uncertainty is top of mind: Pending tariffs that could drive up vehicle costs may create a spike in new car demand as consumers push to lock in pre-tariff prices. ?? Inventory finding balance: Used car inventory was up nearly 3% YoY as dealers replenished stock ahead of the Spring season.
