CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. Our company assists organizations to improve the quality of their services, to demonstrate value, and to meet internationally recognized organizational and program standards. Accreditation is the process of applying a set of standards to different areas of a business. Accreditation is a sign of quality that assures the public that an organization is committed to encouraging feedback, continuously improving services, and serving the community. It also demonstrates an organization’s commitment to enhance performance, manage risk, and distinguish itself from competing organizations. CARF International was founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Phone: (888) 281-6531 Website: www.carf.org

New standards for Disorders of Consciousness specialty programs are currently in development and open for public feedback. Although the number of individuals with disorders of consciousness is anticipated to increase over time, currently only 13% of persons with moderate and severe brain injury have access to inpatient rehabilitation during their recovery. Standards for Disorders of Consciousness specialty programs will help guide new and existing programs on how to best support rehabilitation and recovery. If you have a personal interest or connection to this topic, please share your perspective by participating in the public field review: https://lnkd.in/gwi5xYX2
