At CareerWise, we often say apprenticeship is the gold standard of work-based learning—and this feature in The Job newsletter shows exactly why. Pinnacol Assurance is insuring the future by rethinking how they attract, develop, and retain talent—and youth apprenticeship is at the center of their strategy. From removing degree requirements to promoting former apprentices into leadership roles, Pinnacol is leading by example in Colorado's skills-first economy. We’re proud to partner with employers like Pinnacol who recognize that early talent isn’t just the future—it’s the now. We know that youth apprenticeship is a big decision! Not just for students, but for their families, too. That’s why we recently hosted a Family Webinar, giving parents and guardians a chance to learn more about apprenticeship, ask questions, and hear firsthand from those who’ve been through the journey. Two incredible apprentices, Cain from Pinnacol Assurance and Sarai from Project Angel Heart, joined us alongside their mothers, Lydia and Maria, to share their experiences. They spoke about navigating the apprenticeship experience together, how the program has impacted their lives, and the opportunities it’s opened up for their futures. ?? A huge thank you to our speakers and to all the families who joined the conversation. Your curiosity, questions, and engagement are what make youth apprenticeship such a powerful pathway for students!
