This year’s Women’s Day celebration was more than just a luncheon, it was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we commit to allyship, advocacy, and action. During my welcome remarks, I asked some important questions that set the tone for a meaningful panel discussion: ?? What does your allyship look like in action? ?? Are you simply supporting women in leadership, or are you actively sponsoring them? ?? When was the last time you advocated for a woman in a room where she wasn’t present? Male mentorship and sponsorship, what I call "allyship in action" played a pivotal role in my journey as a leader; something I explore deeply in my book Get Up & LEAD. ?? I am especially grateful for two exceptional male allies at Grace Bay Resorts whose belief in me transformed my career: ? Mark Durliat, our CEO, shared during his remarks that he considers himself an ally for me and I couldn’t agree more. His trust, encouragement, and unwavering sponsorship have allowed me to build an incredible HR team that champions our people agenda and supports our company’s success. ? Thierry Grandsire, my direct leader, has been an ally and sponsor throughout my nearly 15-year journey with Grace Bay Resorts. From Executive Assistant to five promotions later, Thierry didn’t just say yes to my career pivot into HR, he made space for it by creating a role that didn’t exist. That’s what real allyship looks like: using your influence to create opportunity, giving others a seat and a voice at the table. ???? I am also profoundly thankful to my amazing HR and Learning & Development team for spearheading the planning and execution of a truly impactful Women’s Day luncheon. You led with excellence, and your dedication was felt by all who attended. ??
