The Career Development Council team unleashed their creative side at a festive Watercolor Team-Building Workshop hosted by?171 Cedar Arts! From acquiring basic watercolor techniques to crafting personalized holiday cards, bookmarks, and gift tags, the afternoon was filled with laughter, collaboration, and artistic discovery. Career Development Council, Inc. is hosting the NYS Civil Service to speak with our local graduating high school students to demystify Civil Service. I was not aware of the opportunities within Civil Service until I was 36 years old and took my first exam. With exam fees waived this year and many exams being waived, now it is easier than ever to get into a public service career.

At the Career Development Council, we connect business and education to prepare students for career awareness, exploration, and choices. Through career days, mock interviews and job shadowing, we expose students to many careers and help them connect their skills to potential real-world job openings in our community. Our goal is to create a sustainable model where students are informed, businesses are engaged, and we together develop the future talent that will drive our community forward. We’re not just serving schools—we’re here for the entire community, and we value the involvement of our local businesses and volunteers who make all this possible.
