Last year, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shared a publication that stated, “women who were full-time wage and salary workers had median weekly earnings of $1,005 in 2023. That was 83.6 percent of the $1,202 median for men who were full-time wage and salary workers.†This wage disparity is even larger for Black and Latina women in the United States. We share this information on #EqualPayDay as a reminder of the inequalities that still exist within our country’s workforce. Together, we can work towards closing the gender pay gap by ensuring fair and equal compensation for all.
