CTC ‘s mission is to empower professionals to find meaningful employment. It is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization serving people in job or career transitions. Since our founding, CTC offers professional career management support to unemployed or unfulfilled workers throughout the United States and beyond, through in-person and virtual services. Our client range from mid-career professionals to new college graduates. Prospective client information sessions are offered once a week. CTC is a volunteer-driven organization of job/career coaches, speakers and board committee members. 40+ volunteer job/career coaches and career professionals help clients through their searches, including planning, reviewing written documents, interviewing, negotiating and managing the emotions that accompany transition. CTC's offerings include one-on-one coaching, workshops and networking opportunities. Last year, CTC served 300 professionals and 80% secured employment within 4 months. Additionally, CTC provides affordable outplacement services and customized training.

We’re seeing a major shift in the job market, and it's not just about age-friendly jobs—it's about finding age-friendly employers. While 75% of U.S. occupations became more age-friendly between 1990 and 2020, older workers aren’t necessarily benefiting as expected. ?? Despite 33.1 million age-friendly jobs being added during this period, only 15.2 million were filled by workers aged 50+. Surprisingly, younger workers and college graduates are getting the lion’s share of these roles, leaving many non-college grads, especially men, behind. ?? The rise of age-friendly jobs is encouraging, but there’s still work to be done. Companies offering flexibility, telecommuting, and meaningful work are increasing, but true age-friendly employers—those committed to hiring, training, and retaining workers over 50—remain scarce. For older job seekers, the key is researching companies that prioritize age inclusivity. Review ESG reports, check AARP’s list of age-friendly employers, and be proactive during interviews by highlighting your experience and long-term commitment. Many employers cite a lack of motivation (50%), professionalism (46%), and communication skills (39%) as significant factors. These concerns are prompting companies to reconsider hiring postgraduates in the coming years, revealing a deeper issue of workplace preparedness among Gen-Z. ??
