Our firm, with generous donations from Bill Walker Clothier, packed 4+ wardrobe boxes with suits, sports coats, blouses, dresses, socks, pants, shoes, belts, ties, bow ties, laptop bags, and a plethora of other items and dropped them off today. Last Wednesday night, our Bellaire Southwest Rotary Club celebrated a year of incredible positive impact on our local community, state, nation & the globe at our Annual Installation Dinner. We were honored to have District Governor Nancy Anderson officiate the Swearing In Ceremony of our incoming Board of Directors for the year ahead. I am very humbled & honored to have been sworn in as the President of the Bellaire SW Houston Rotary Club for the coming year. We were able to celebrate all of the accomplishments of our Club President Richard Cole, and other amazing fellow Rotarians. We were very proud to award: 1) “The Bob Ellis Rotarian of the Year Award” - Ted Turk as our Finalist Nominees: Cheryl Bright Surpris Cherazard Ralph Rieger, CPA, CGMA 2) Paul Harris Fellow - Ralph Rieger, CPA, CGMA 3) “Flag Program Catalyst Awards” - Craig Wooten David Montague Dan Collins Ephraim Emanuel Gilkes, FLMI Ralph Rieger, CPA, CGMA Just as we celebrated our Club’s transformational accomplishments of this past year, I shared “My Vision For The Year Ahead”: This coming year, I’ve chosen our own Club Theme: "Spurring The Next Generation"… ~ Each weekly meeting will have it’s own focus: Week 1 - Business Related Speaker, Week 2 - Nonprofit/Org Related to Grants, Week 3 - Community, Civics & Citizenship Week 4 - Fun Fellowship Program & Hands-On Service ~ We are launching a BSWH Business Membership Program & BSWH Rotary Business Ambassadors Council to engage more of local businesses (small & large). ~ Planning to add a 5th Meeting on last Sunday of month (3:30-5pm) that will engage Rotary Families in service. ~ We are going to place a significant focus on our Youth Exchange Program (we are always looking for host families - Bellaire High School) ~ Working deepen the already strong ties & relationship with the City of Bellaire, Bellaire Business Association, as well as our Bellaire Police/Fire/EMS Departments.
